mansta
I use my mic mixer (behringer UB1202) with my portable minidisc player (sony MZ-N1) for recording. When Automatic Gain Control (AGC) is on, the levels on the UB1202 and the minidisc player seem to correspond well. When I turn AGC off (manual mode), the recording is totally clipped even though the level indicators on the UB1202 are green. To get a decent recording using manual levels, I have to turn the ouput right down on the mixer. Is this because the maximum input levels are different for AGC and manual modes or is it some other problem?
greenmachine
What level setting did you use in manual mode? Did you change/lower it at all? To do so, use the jog dial (see page 36 of the user manual).
raintheory
This may be a kind of silly question... but do you have it plugged into your line-in or mic-in?
woodeeee
definately sounds like you're using the mic-in, rather than the line-ini remember this happened to me when i first got my MDrecorder many years ago, not knowing that the optical in was actually a line in as well, i dint use the line-in for ages thinking it would break the optics if i stuck a jack in it oh how i rejoiced when i realised 'Line-in' really meant line-in as well
