dexta
man im so frikken annoyed. i installed sonicstage software to 3.2 n imported all my songs, connected the md player mz-n1 to the pc n tried to transfer my songs. for SOME reason, some get transfered, but most do not. some error comes up like "doesnt support the file format or is copyrighted" but all of my songs arent protected by copyright (except for one album, which i accidently had copyright protected when i ripped). so does this mean all of my songs have messed up formats or what? what the heck do i need to do to TRANSFER MY FRIKKEN SONGS???? @!*(#^B(@*^#BC(@#Cbtw, i got all my songs on the pc already n dont wanna use that simple burner program. i wanna figure out wut THIS problem is n do it this way. could anyone help me? Ishiyoshi
Welcome to MDCF!First of all, what sort of music format you were trying to transfer over to the MZ-N1? Remember, MZ-N1 being a NetMD device only supports ATRAC ("fake SP" reconverted from LP2) and ATRAC3 format via SonicStage. It does not support ATRAC3plus. Syrius
I suggest that you re-rip your CD's to Wav or Windows Media lossless, import those to SonicStage, and then transfer. Make sure to uncheck the DRM box. Then delete the Wav's or WMA-L from your system, if you want.
dexta
bleh i really dont wanna re rip.. i know the music format has to be atrac3. i tried to convert all my songs to atrac3. sometimes i could convert them and transfer them to the md player, sometimes i could convert them and NOT transfer them to the md player, and sometimes (mostly) i couldnt convert them at all because of "doesnt support the file format or is copyrighted" error. i tried to fix this problem for several hours yesterday and was readin these forums n stuff but i dont know what the problem is
Syrius
Try re-ripping and transfering one Wav. Then one Mp3. Make sure you are not ripping with something that adds DRM to your ripped files (WMP, for example) See what makes SS choke. This has to be tackled step by step, to see where the problem lies.Maybe your music files have gone corrupt enough for SS to not understand them, though other players can read them just fine. What are you using to rip? What are you ripping to? Are some of the files you are trying to transfer, by any chance, variable bitrate Mp3? SonicsStage chokes on those. Got FFDShow or any other codec packs? If I had a nickel for every time SonicStage has given me problems... I couldn't even afford a lollipop at the store.
