Whoah. 90 hours for 48kbps on A608. That's killer.

I didn't know that the A-line all had different batteries... it's not all rated at 50 hours? I thought they all had the same battery but diff flash sizes... (I have no product spec sheets to look at cuz it's not released in English yet)

Sadly in real life, things are different.

I doubt many people here will listen to mp3s at 128 unless the like the underwaterish sound. So I will assume most people will go with 192 or higher.

I listen to 192, 200vbr, some 320s, so a mix of most over 192. I can safely tell you that so far I have gotten on average these last 3 days for the A1000, 4-5 hours. Granted the battery doesn't die, but it does get to 1/4 full, but even I hit 1/4 full, I was still able to listen for a good 2 hours and 1/4 still remained. My guess is that 8-10 hours with 15sec, is a good estimate for 192 kbps. I will do a test this weekend to try to confirm this.

They(Sony){Sony-digitalink}have posted "number of hours of music can be imported" under battery section instead of "Battery life while using player with different atrac bit rates"

Wondering if you've done that battery test on your A1000. I think I saw you mention on another thread that you were hoping that the battery life would fill out a bit after some use. A friend visiting from Vancouver is bringing me my A1000 and I can't wait to get my hands on it - but worried a bit about battery life. If 8-10 hours is really all you're getting (like you I have mostly 192 kbps+ mp3s), I might want to trade up to the 3000 - speaking of which, what your battery experiences with that model as well? Thanks -

Welcome eu9ene, the reason I was getting such low battery life was due to the fact that it was still new. I did a battery test almost 2 weeks ago on the A1000 and you can find the info here:

http://www.atraclife.com/index.php?showtopic=511&st=20

I haven't done any testing on the A3000 per se, but from regular use at home, it has outlasted the A1000 initially. But I did just get it last week tuesday, so I haven't had much time to test the battery on it fully.

I only use high bitrate mp3s, since I don't want to change my entire library to atrac.
