s6arizona
Okay, so I'm in radio, and I record my show each night on the old-school MD decks at the radio station. (Aside: they can't pay back the LP mode recorded on newer MD recorders)My personal player is the MZ-NF5200 and I can play everything back fine.My PROBLEM is that I'd like to transfer the tracks to my PC. I'm running an older version of Soundstage (v2.0) which I hesitate to upgrade because the DRM stuff keeps getting harder to deal with. Is an upgrade to v3.whatever the solution?I'd like to avoid dubbing my 2 hour talk show in RealTime each day... MANY THANKS for this forum. I'm already addicted, since I've been using MD for over 10 years.-Sebastian in Tucson
The Low Volta
welcome to MDCF s6arizona,I'm sorry, but realtime transfer is the only possibility with that type of recordings...- only HiMD-format recordings (i.e. HiLP, HiSP or PCM) can be uploaded through USB. The USB on NetMD'w (like your player) is one way PC->MD only.- old type recordings (LP, SP) will not be transferred faster than realtime, not even with a HiMD machine just check out this thread for a more complete descriptionso if you want the uploading ability real bad: check the minidisc.org equipment browser for a HiMD model and remember... you should record with this machine in the HiMD mode or the recordings still won't be uploadable
s6arizona
Thanks Volta... as we say in California... you are da bomb. And your picture is SUPER hot.I'll avoid swearing on the forum... but CRAP! The un-upload-ability really frosts my shorts. Thanks again... and I'm truly glad to be a part of the coolest forum devoted to the coolest format in history. Eat salt, DAT lovers.-Sebastian
The Low Volta
thanks... glad to help, even if I can't really 'help' you with your recordings...
Christopher
It definitely sounds like Hi-MD is for you. Selling the NF520 for $50-$75 is a good head-start on a $200ish MZ-RH910 or $250 MZ-RH10 Hi-MD unit. You may also be interested in first generation moreso than the second as it has better functionality with the old standard of Minidisc (MDLP, etc) - models like the MZ-NH900 and MZ-RH700 would be ideal for you.
