roryok
I just upgraded SonicStage from 2.x to 3.1, and now it won't recognise my hiMD when I connect it! I know the USB is working fine because it still comes up as a removable drive. Whats going on?
Christopher
Reinstall via the directions in the FAQ and install Sonicstage 3.2. Make sure that unit is unplugged whilst uninstall/reinstall. State your system specs according to the rules, as well.
Mightyone
I am having the same problem. Sorry that this post is so long Im just at the end of my tether.I purchased a sony md walkman MZ NH1 last week so I can record my vocalists accapellas onto it and then transfer the recording to my laptop to build a tune around the recording. The recorder came with Sonic stage 2 software which allowed me to transfer my audio recordings to my pc but did not enable me to burn them to a cd. When I contacted Sony they were as much help as a chocolate t pot and told me I needed to download the Wav conversion file, which i did on a seperate computer as my laptop does not go onto the internet for security reasons.I then tried to install the conversion program on my laptop to find I needed a version of ss higher than 2.1. So I got back onto Sony who told me to download the free upgrade version on their site. Unfortunately that isnt possible as my laptop is not on the internet, I asked if I could buy a more recent version and after several more calls they offered me SS version 1.5?????????????????Then after stumbling around the internet for a bit I discovered this great forum and downloaded SS version 3.1. After a bit of jiggery pockery I installed it and pluged in my MD recorder and although my PC recognises it as a drive SS appears to be ignoring it !!!! I know you have told roryok to SS 3.2 but I cant as Im not on the net!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAARRGGHGHGH !!!!Incidently the files I transfered from the player before I upgraded can now be burned to cd!!!! Sods LawPlease help. Edited August 10, 2005 by Mightyone

SonicStage 3.1 won't recognise my MD, and also the WAV conversion tool STILL asks me for a version higher than 2.1, even though I've now installed 3.
Mightyone
I am now completely confused as I have removed the 3.1 version and reinstalled the 2 version which is now letting me burn Cds!!!!This is weird.Incidently after all the problems I am having my confidence in sony is rapidly dissapearing. I have phoned them numerous times to try and shed some light on the problem and they havent got a clue. After explaining for the umpteenth time that I had more than one computer and they arent all on the internet she seemed to feel my situation was unique as most people only have one computer and have internet access. This for me is crap as I run a recording studio and including my own computers at home i have 11 computers at my disposal, only one of them is on the internet so an internet only option for a company as large as sony is pants!!!!!I still want to upgrade and would appreciate any suggestion please. Thanks
atrain
buy some cheap wifi cards? or wait for our offline installer to be ready.
roryok
Ok, I've just upgraded to SS 3.2 Via the offline installer MDCF provided, still no joy.Whether I have the MD plugged in or out when I start SonicStage, it won't recognise the device. The only transfer options I get are for Audio/Mp3/Atrac CDs. I'm not really happy with the idea of having to reinstall XP just to get this one thing working. I just have too many apps and customisations made. Any more ideas?

Any more ideas?←well, i know im just a newbie and all that, but i had a similar problem, in that after i installed SS3.2 according to the FAQ directions, my MD was not recognised. in despair, i got out my SS2.1 CD to go back to the old version that might work, expecting a giant stuff up and more issues, but what happened was that after installing SS 2.1, SS3.2 was still there, but now the computer recognised the MD! crazy huh? thanks to sony for days of fun! Can't remember now but it either wanted me to uninstall 3.2 first, or 3.2 just wouldn't work after 2.1 was installed.

I've tried every combination of ss3.2 with the personal audio driver and OpenMG update, nothing works. Now I have ss2.1 and ss3.2, and I THINK its working. Although I had to come into work before I could test fully....
