Can I convert Mp3 to ATRAC3 on the fly?

Is there a way to convert the mp3's you want on your discman to atrac3 on the fly? Example:

download EssentialMix.mp3

transfer to nw-hd5 using sonic stage

automatic convertion to atrac3 format

instead of

download EssentialMix.mp3

convert to atrac3

transfer to nw-hd5 using sonic stage

delete atrac3 file

Hmm never used a discman with atrac, but in SS3.2 when I used with my MD, if I didn't convert the MP3 to atrac, it would automatically convert it when I went to transfer the file to the MD.

The program is set to auto convert it to LP2 always, since that is the best compromise with normal MDs. You can also set it to SP (takes a while to transfer, way too long) or LP4, which is faster than LP2, but sounds below average if you ask me.

The HD5 can play MP3 natively, so why bother converting it to Atrac? You only get longer transfer time and lower quality.

Use mp3`s as it is .As during conversion from mp3`s to atrac there will be loss due to transcoding .
