What phones are right for me?

Razor, the noise from rubbing clothes can be reduced by attaching the cord with a clip or keeping it as tight as possible, and its perception will vary from person to person and depending on the music. But microphonics do exist. Think of how you feel when using earplugs or just holding your ears closed. The Shures do a better job of diminishing this noise because of the way you're supposed to use them.

At the same time, isolation makes these types of phones a good option exactly for when you're walking on the street or riding a train, because you limit outside noise. It's all a matter of choosing the best compromise for you.

I've read the md33 have great sound, better than the ex71 and actually better, according to many, than the Shure E2. They are made for Sharp minidisc players, though, that have a slightly different connector, with four poles instead of the regular three. Because of that, you need to do some kind of modification or use an extension cord that has the usual three poles. I'm not sure if that extension comes with the phones or not.

Take a look also at the Sennheiser earbuds. They're not in-ear types. I have the mx300, which are cheap phones, and they sound very well considering their price. I suppose better models from Sennheiser must be quite good.

There is a thing that i am certain about that i will never use any kind of extension... if it is a jack or a cord.. i will never use them....

so the md33 has to be used with a jack converter i think.. because of the four polar.. right?? if i dont use it i wont be able to take a good sound from the md33..

i wont buy sennheiser either...

at the side, md33 is said to be better than ex71.. but here comes the four polar problem...

NOW i am stuck... i couldnt make a decision.. if i will.. i am sure that it will be wrong.. stuck stuck stuck..

--no extension cord or no jack converter... (i think that using a extension will be problem for comfortability and an extension can weaken the sound quality)

--no ex71 51 81 because of weak cord

--it will be a in ear canal system earbud definitely

-- good bass mid treb

-- hıgh volume

-- can be sharp md33. but it must get on well with the a1000 without the converter

-- a reasonable frequency range

-- good isolation

-- comfortable

-- cheap =)

Leave "Sharp HP-MD33S " as frequency responce is not very wide.Specification of Philips Headphones looks good ... One year back i had a portable philips headphone(not the ear canal system type) & they lasted for about 10 months not bad at all .So quality of philips headphones is also good

May i ask you a question.

Have you tried any Ear in canal Earphones before?

I`m asking you because ear in canal headphones are going to be incomfortable some what .So first try them in some store or borrow them from a friend ...

Are you are comfortable with in ear incanal earphones ? Tell "yes" or "no"

First answer this question...

I Bought The Panasonic RP-HJE50 last sunday and...well...since its my first in ear (was using sennheiser mx-500 before) its kinda funny..most of the time..i dont really know if im supposed to shove the thing into my ear canal or just let it stay a lil more on the outside..this seems to get better isolation and lows than the former

sound wise, its not too bad..but its not as clear as the mx-500, of course thats my opinion..

The highs can be a little bit on the harsh side and the lows muddy when i tried it out the first time..i havent really burned them in yet...as i only use them after work unlike the senns..but it does seem to get better and better...of course i am aware that it could be a placebo effect here...have no real complains bout the mids tho. The bottom line is..if yorue into thumping bass and such..get sony and dont bother with this one...

to be fair you CAN get a better and complete review at head-fi.org

or head to this site:

http://forums.hardwarezone.com/showthread.php?t=1163140

i bought my pannys based on the reviews here and head-fi

its a chain cord thingy..so the right side is longer than the left..meant to go round your neck...handy when you need to take it off as the cord would just rest on the back of your neck as opposed to the sennheisers (Y cord). its about 0.5m (good for remotes) and comes with a 1m extension and this makes it kinda messy if you know what i mean

Stuge,

i couldnt answer because my exams are too much.. so i just enter the site and read the posts.. sorry for that and thax for being interested...

yes i am comfortable with the in ear İNcanal earphones, but sometimes i did need to press the earphones into my ear.. so i think that in ear canal will solve this problem...

no i never tried the in ear canal earphones.. and i think that i cant because here in Turkey, there is no where to buy this kind of earphones.. None of my friends have either..

Beethovenian,

i am just more scrambled in the head fi.. sorry...

mascis,

i thank you very much for your review and help... but i dont think that i will buy Panasonic RP-HJE50 .. because i didnt like it according to your review...

Rahmaninov,

but the frquency range is too short, i think... right?? but i am shocked with the sensitivity of mx500 119db/mv it is very high...

at the end...

i just want a earbud that is stronger than ex71...

higher sound than ex71

have the quality of sound as much as ex71

strong and pure bass

good treble

The most important thing is getting rid of pressing the earbusd into the ears.. so it must be in ear canal type.... ???

i will mostly listen house and techno... like dım tıs dım tıs dım tıs.........

What about the Sennheiser IE4? Apparently, they're exactly the same as the Sharp md33, but without the need for an extension cord to have the regular three poles connection. The problem is that they're more expensive than the md33 (check eBay; I've seen them there for around US $55, a price that's close to the Shure E2c's). Or just get the md33. I don't think you'll have any degradation of sound quality because of the extension. And don't be so attached to specs. They don't mean much at this price range.

Beethovenian,

that is the first time that i am hearing about the IE4 and i liked it very much.. and we dont have them here in Turkey i think.. but of course can be shipped here.. it would be better if i learned the frequency range of IE4 and shure e2c...

all of my exams are 100 out of 100...

i suggest you to find a girlfriend for studying.. then studying became more enjoyable.. trust..

yes that is the picture that i was mentioned... do you see projecting part in front of the earbud?? can it work like in ear canal?? or it is just nothing..??

what do you think about tech specs?? it is 35 ytl and i will buy it in Turkey.. for example ex71 is 75-80 ytl for me to buy from a internationally shipping web site..

Yes ,I do see projecting part but i think its rubber (picture doesn`t clear that )

At that Price frequency responce is not that bad at all ...(8-24000hz)

I t also has a "volume control" switch .

Philips has given them in the category "In Ear Headphones"

But i will not recommend you to compare that phones with Ex71

there are lot of Dissimilarities between them..

Thanks for your Suggestion to find a girlfriend for studying ..but in my case no one can teach me(except for teachers) I need to do 6-7 hours of study daily ..after college ..

I sometimes do study till 2-3am ...And i need peace while studying & no friends when i`m studying ....

Nice to see that you are getting good results

Razor, why are you concerned about frequency range? I don't think it will actually make such a difference. I mean, the md33 (and IE4, which are the same) won't be worse than the Philips if their listed frequency range is not as wide. It may even happen that the Philips are better, but it won't be because of that.

I really don't know the md33, only from reading very favourable comments. Some people say it sounds better than the Shure E2. I had the E2, and they're good, though not very detailed in the high end (bass is powerful). The E3 are definitely a step above (many dollars more also). They take some time getting used to, and some people give up before feeling comfortable with them. But they offer very good isolation and are very sturdy. Being more similar to the ex71 than the E2, I believe the md33/IE4 are much more comfortable. Isolation is not nearly as good with the ex71, though, and since they don't go deeper inside the ear canal, they can slip off your ears more easily as well. Also, the Shures are designed to be used over the ears, behind the neck, and that reduces microphonics a lot.

Razorback you have only suggested us a budget of $55(US) ..Are you interested in increasing your budget?

As your post suggest you are confusing yourself further by posting these links.

EDIT#2

I looked at the links you have posted ,2nd link is broken..

Sony`s "MDR-NC11A" is not available in my country .So i haven`t tried it .Also Sony website suggest it needs a AAA battery for Noise Canceling to work...

I have tried "MDR-G94NC" once In Sony World(after persuing the sales person a lot)

They were really good ...

I don`t have much information About KOSS...

I've been using E2c's for about a week now and am just getting used to them, they do 'isolate' very well and i'm very impressed with the sound quality, the only downside i can find is the length of the cable, especially when i'm using my remote with my A1000............, there's miles of the stuff getting in the way!!!
