Slightly OT: Any MP3 Players with Mic Jack Input?

One of the reasons I'm leaning toward a Hi-MD player over an mp3 player is that in addition to playing back music and MP3s, I'd like to have a device with a mic input jack for recording from an external microphone. I realize that some mp3 players do have input jacks, however I've only found mp3 players with line level inputs, in which case a mic level signal would be much too low for proper recording. That said, does anyone know of mp3 players/recorders that offer a stereo mic level input jack?

I believe there's an accessory that allows microphones to be attached to an iPod for recording, however I read that the iPod's sampling frequency is only 8 kHz which would be unacceptable for my applications. This brings up another question...of any mp3 players with a mic input, can any match the 44.1 kHz sampling frequency and PCM recording option of Hi-MD recorders?

Thanks!

The Creative Nomad Jukebox 3 has a line in jack, which can be upgraded to a mic input via firmware by applying more gain. Qualitywise it's by far no competition to (Hi-)MD though - it sounds dull and you can hear spinning noises from the harddrive. Additionally it lacks a bias voltage a.k.a. 'plug in power' for electret microphones.

It's about time that MD gets some real competition.
