Sparky191
it will be tied up in courts for so long,I doubt it will matter.
Christopher
Ah, patents. What a wonderful world. The title of this topic is a little misleading -- the patent isn't for mp3 players as a whole, but rather the navigation within that is commonly found in almost every MP3 player out today. Would I consider it groundbreaking? Possibly, but it'll probably be just a petty fee that all other manufacturers will have to pay until they convert to a new system that isn't similar to this. That will not be difficult, as a company can just introduce a small change and it could be considered completely different. Patents are a extremely complicated matter (go read a patent and you'll know what I mean) and as Sparky191 noted it's likely this will be in court for a while before really afflicting the industry.
