Shoestring413
I just upgraded from a MZ-R50 to a MZ-RH10 which are worlds apart. Currently (until I can afford Cardoids) I run a Sony ECM-717 Electret Condenser MIC which I run through the MIC IN plug (for powering also). After looking through the mic settings, I notice there is a MIC Sens option in addition to a MIC AGC option. I ran my R50 MIC SENS on LOW. Do I need to set the AGC to "For Loud Music" in addition to the Mic sens low setting, or just leave the MIC AGC setting to standard? I want to try this out on a concert in a few weeks and would like to have the settings right so I don't loose out on a good recording of the show. greenmachine
If you really want to use AGC, use the 'loudmusic' setting for any kind of music, 'standard' only for speech and such. These two settings influence the release characteristic / time of the AGC limiter. If you want dynamically uncompressed recordings, which is preferrable, use manual levels and the setting won't have any effect.
