jquintano
i just got my hi-md on wednesday (pay day) whenever i try to connect it to the pc it only beleives it's connected on rare occasions and even when it does the md is not recognised as connected in sonicstage(3.0) the pc sometimes realises the md is connected when i have a normal md in the player but whenever i take that out and put a blank hi-md in the pc gets amnesia. when i try to reinstall the drivers from the cd i get told their is an invalid driver so i've been looking for a driver but can't find any please help mini disc overlords
Christopher
Welcome. Are you connected through a USB hub, or is it directly connected to the computer? Furthermore, please tell us your system specs according to the rules and also download and install Sonicstage 3.2.Yours,Overlord
jquintano
my pc has 6 usb ports two in front 4 in rear im assuming they are on sum sort of hub but ive tried it in all 6 and it doesn work plus my old net md worked fine in the two front ones using openmg. specs rare celeren running at 2.4, 512mb ram, 120gb hd, dvd-cd drive xp operating system erm other than that pretty ordinary machine. when i go into the device manager it has a yellow dot with an exclamation mark over the hi-md usb branch ive tried reinstalling the driver but the pc claims it's invalid. im starting to think it's a pc fault but i figured i'd ask u gurus first but im gonna go home and install 3.
Ishiyoshi
I would suggest you try the following procedure:1. Go into Device Manager and expand the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" group.2. Uninstall every device listed under this group (right click on device, left click uninstall)3. Be sure all USB devices are unplugged!4. Restart Computer5. Upon restart the computer will recognize all the devices and install them.6. Plug in your device and see if it works.Good luck. Petter156
Also, if possible, use Sony´s own SonicStage 3.2 installer (the one that needs a net connection).I had issues with the MDCF packaged installer and I think someone else had the same problem as me; my recorder wasn´t recognized. jquintano
yeah i installed sonicstage 3.2 and found that the net md portion of my minidisc works fine (transfers etc.) but as soon as i try to put in a hi-md disc in or format a normal disc in hi-md mode the connection is lost otherwise the player works fine when i try to load the hi-md using any driver (windows internal or disc provided) im told that the driver doesnt have microsoft certification and may cause problems i hope i've localised thisproblem enough for you guys to help cos i don't wanna have to take my md back it's so pretty
Christopher
What options do you have when you see the microsoft certification message?
