jan_theone
Hello everybody,I hope, there isn't a thread, which already deals with that problem, but I already searched the forum and didn't find anything. So I ask you for help to fix my problem. My problem is my brand new MZ-RH10.I got it today and first applied the hack to enable custom equalizer and no volume limitation, since it is the eu-version.At first it ran correctly and played my MDs.Then I started to record something and went away. When I came home, the player was turned off, although the recording was not finished.I wanted to restart the recording, but no matter which MD I put in, whether a HiMD or a normal MD, my RH10's display only said "No Disc".I waited a short time, took out the battery for ca. 30 minutes, but the unit still didn't work. When I put an MD into the player, I can hear how the disc spins for a very short time (one second maximum) and very quiet (more quiet as before, when it worked), but then it stops and the display tells me that there is no disc in the player. So I ask you minidisc-experts what the cause of this problem could be.Since I bought the unit at an internet-store, I only want to give it back to the store if there is no other possibility, because I don't want to wait so long.hoping for help,jan_theone
Syrius
A faulty unit. Try restoring the settings to the default ones, and exchange it. It sounds like the motor has gone kaput.
Christopher
Possibly, but when you connect the unit to a computer does Sonicstage read it? Does it read the disc within? (this wasn't clear in your inital description)
BobS
If it is new, return it. Don't bother with "experts" finding out what is wrong with it. I would make no attempt at fixing it other than resetting to original condition, you may void your warranty
jan_theone
@ all: thank you for your replies. well, i think i really have to give it back to the shop...@kurisu: sonicstage recognizes the unit (as well as windows explorer), but it doesn't recognize any minidisc i put in (always saying "no disc"). jan_theone
i contacted the shop where i bought my rh-10 and they said that i can send it back to them (for free) and they will replace it with a new one (also for free), so everything should be ok now.i have one final question: could this problem/damage been caused by changing my rh10 from eu-version into japanese? if this is so, i will definitely leave the new player as it is... As long I don't NEED the additional function after hack I better leave it. Just a matter of peace of my mind buddy . After I hacked my r700 it seems the sound a bit thinner.
