gartnl
After using standerd MD's for a long time I bought a NetMD ( NX90 ) believing I could also use this to quickly make normal MD's. After the usual annoyance with sonicstage I stumbled on this: When I want to transfer songs to MD using 'Stereo' ( ATRAC1 ) Sonic stage still converts the songs to ATRAC3 LP2. When I check out the LP2 to my NetMD the song is transferred to ATRAC1 on my MD.In my opinion this means that the lower quality ATRAC3 LP2 is converted back to high quality ATRAC1. But than the real quality would still be ATRAC3. So is the NetMD/sonicstage combination not capable of producing real ATRAC1 MD's? Or am I missing something here? The Low Volta
hi gartnl, welcome to MDCF...real SP (atrac) is only possible by recording in realtime (line in/mic in/optical in) see this post for a better description of the possibilities
gartnl
tnx LVSo I wrongly assumed to transfer CD's in high speed to MD, like the box promised. Why is it that sony always cripples there excellent hardware?
The Low Volta
HiMD offers HiSP, which can be downloaded from PC at high(er) speeds and sounds pretty much as good as real SPI guess NetMD was a sort of "in between" format, which offers some great ideas (USB) but didn't erally do that much with it
gartnl
Never mind. Bought the NX90 new for € 39 including disks so still a great deal and better sound than the average MP3 player.
