disko
Hi all, & congratulations on a great site! This is my first post - I've tried searching for the answer to this one, but I give up - I need help! I just want to check that it's OK to use a Vivanco EM216 battery powered mic with either a Sony MZ-R70 or MZ-R700. Or should I use a simple plug-in stereo mic that uses the unit's power? If I use the latter, will the mic pick up any sound from the unit? I read somewhere that the R70 is quite noisy when recording...but then again, I've also heard that battery powered mics are not good for the machine, so I'm completely baffled! All help gratefully received.
greenmachine
It should work without any problems, if the circuit is designed properly, there should be no harmful voltage entering the recorder's input. The closer you place the mic(s) to the recorder, the more likely you'll hear motor noises in your recording. Simple as that. Practice and learn and you'll soon become a pro.
