HD5 Case for NW-A1000?

A couple days ago I bought a my new NW-A1000, afterwards I went online to buy a case for it but I discovered there's none in Holland (The Netherlands), I thought of maybe getting one from England but the sending fees were too high.

After some browsing I reached a point where I called sony themselves for an answer, the lady offered me the following:

A HD5 leather flip open case for €11,99.

My question is, will it fit? Does anyone know? They seem to have very similar dimensions but the case seems to have little grips to hold onto the square hd5 which might pose a problem. Does anyone know?

I ended up getting it anyway, the case retails for €30 here and the sending fee alone (i know this from experience) is about €13. So I'm getting a pretty hefty discount for my hassle. I just want to know if I should backorder a case elsewhere...

Well the thing is, the new A series is quite resistant to scratches in my personal use so far, so a case although nice, isn't needed. Are there no shops on the net based in holland that sell the case? I am sure sonystyle Netherlands will have the cases for the A1000 in eventually. We had about a month delay for the cases here in canada.

Are the A3000s available in the netherlands yet? I didn't see them on the sonystyle site yet.

As well if possible please do post a small review of what you think of the player in the equipment review area. Please do inlcude pictures if possible. thanks

It's actually my girlfriends birthday present, I own an iAudio M3 (Which does come with a case, grrrr) and she's sort of a baglady...

Meaning that it'll be bouncing around this gigantic bag she has with keys and other nasties, it'll put any fall or other to shame within the week...

Of course, it doesn't scratch like an iPod but I really dont want it to get messed up, its a beautiful player.

On an unrelated note, you know the iPod is boring when even your non-techie girlfriend can't stand the lemming factor of it all. she wanted something different than an iPod. I know she'll love this purple bugger once she gets it this sunday.

Edit: there are no shops in Holland that I know of right now that have a case, sony confirmed it.

And the A3000 is available, quite nice too. Screen is a little more "pixelly" though, larger but not higher res. I guess.

Guess it all depends on what keeps the a1000 attached, dimensions are quite similar...

Yes you are right

I think because of depth of A1000 the case of HD5 will not fit
