see change
Gradually working out the pitfalls of using a Hi MD recordedI've discovered , the unfortunate way, that Sonic stage deletes files ( recorded analog Via Mic ) that you've already uploaded from your Hi MD to sonic stage.Prior to attempting to do this , I'd copied the contents of the Disc into a folder on my Hard Drive.I've copied this file back to a blank disc, and while the new disc shows there are files on it , these are not being read by sonic stage.I've just coming to terms with Sonic stage , so I'm not sure if I'm doing something incorrectly or what I'm trying to do isn't possible regardless.Any ideas See Change

Under advanced setting..check "leave files on disc"?As for reading copied files, think Sonicstage doesn't like that all.
Shozzer
Upgrade to Sonic Stage 3.2 for unlimited uploads (see downloads section of this site). Tick the "Leave the tracks on the disc" box under the Advanced Transfer Settings to leave the tracks on the minidisc after uploading. Also, get a copy of Marc's HI-MD Renderer to convert uploaded digital tracks (ie recorded using the optical in on the md) to WAV & etc.Have fun. raintheory
Unfortunately there is no way (at this time) to upload the audio that you copied over from your computer like that. The audio data will not be read by the HiMD player/SonicStage if it has been copied to the disc from your computer in that way, as this would make any copy protection/DRM that has been implemented by SONY obsolete. It may be worth saving that data just in case someone finds a way to decode it down the road. There is some good information regarding uploading in the safest possible manner here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6330Welcome to the forums btw Edited October 5, 2005 by raintheory

Thanks for the replies guys.Having spent a bit of time reading this forum I've worked out what I need to do from now on . What I was really hoping for is a way to read the info that I'd dragged and dropped into my hard Drive prior to loosing it.I use my MD as a dictaphone for ideas for songs , so there's some stuff I'd like to rescue. I also want to convert the oma files that I've previously downloaded into Wav files. Is this possible?See Change
