Question: SonicStage alternatives?

Hey everyone--first post here. I just got my MZ-RH10 the other day, and I was trying to transfer some music onto my player. My question is basically, is there an alternative program to use instead of SonicStage? It seems that SonicStage, in order to use My Library, must copy all 11 gb of my music into the folder. That seems a little redundant to me: why can't it just leave the music in the folder it's in and use it from there? I don't have a large harddrive to be able to copy my music twice.

It just seems like SonicStage is an ineffective program, but I may not be using it properly. For instance, can you arrange the files (mp3s) into groups or albums and then update them on the device, or do I have to just upload all my music and set it up on the device itself? Maybe this isn't so bad. But the fact that I have to recopy all my music into an entirely different folder to utilize it on my device is quite irksome.

There's no alternative to SonicStage. Welcome to Sonyland, where everyone speaks a different language from the rest of the known universe.

Under Files/Import/Music Files, you can import only the album you need rather than all your music at once. If you're importing albums and group by Date Imported (just click on the column heading) then you can make groups for your newly imported music.

No one loves SonicStage. "Irksome" pretty much describes it.

The only alternative to SonicStage is BeatJam (*latest version only comes in Japanese; and BeatJam comes bundled with Sharp NetMD units), which utilize the same OpenMG Secure module. The only difference between the two software is its UI, otherwise it's the same.

If you have SonicStage installed in your system, you can use Windows Media Player to playback ATRAC tunes; but remember only for playback.

Note to all: For future reference, please heed atrain's advise - use the search engine and please read "pinned" threads in each section of the forum.

What I do I import the music files that I want to upload to MD then delete afterwards.

"SurfSecret CD Rip & Burn" does anybody tried it?

Haven't tried it, but it's for CDs, not MDs. You can convert files for free with dbpoweramp---look in Downloads. And you can burn CDs with free programs like Windows Media Player, iTunes or RealPlayer. If you want a good, well-known CD burning program, look into Nero.
