FergusF
Hi All,I have an RH10 & I use SS 3.2 on an xp home sp2 pc. I just got the MM BSM9 dual point microphone from microphonemadness! It does exactly what I want and I am very pleased with it. I use it to record interviews, I clip one mic to my shirt and the other to the person I am interviewing; I can sit up to 12ft away from the other person and the quality is great! what I want to know is this, can I combine the 2 channels into 1 so that I am not listening to my voice on one speaker and the other persons voice on the other speaker? in other words can I record in mono?thanks in advance,Fergus
A440
You could do it with two adapters. First a stereo-to-mono adapter--a stereo plug to a mono jack that would combine both channels. Then you would add a mono-to-stereo adapter--a mono jack to a stereo plug--so that your mono signal would be fed to both channels. The stereo-to-mono adapter should be a cord if you can find one to minimize the stress on your headphone jack. Two adapter plugs together would put a lot of leverage pressure on your jack. The other question is how much quality you would lose, and the only way to find out is to try. Adapters are only about $3 each, so it's worth an experiment. Try a Radio Shack or other electronics store.
FergusF
Hi A440.that sounds like a good fix and well worth a try; I will endevour to keep the strain off the headphone jack as you suggest.kind regards,Fergus
