People,

Do you know how to play omg/oma files on Winamp?

My computer is so old, I can't afford to use Sonic Stage at all (no memory and disk space). But I have files, that's a problem for me to play them.

What do you think I could do to solve this?

I have Windows 98SE on PC

I have Windows 98SE on PC

You're probably stuck. The only way your computer can play .omg/.oma files is with the OpenMG module in SonicStage. When SonicStage is installed, you can add .oma and .omg to the files Winamp plays--but uninstall SonicStage, and no go.

How about adding some memory to the computer, or burning some of the files on your disc to CD to free up some space.

The point is that Winamp refuses playing these types of files even if Sonic Stage is installed, I've already tried to do so.

Computer can't be updated - too old equipment for our days. Only thing that might help is some plugin, but who writes it?

Another computer, with XP platform on it, plays omg/oma on WMPlayer without any problem, but the same player on Win98SE cannot. I wonder if it is because XP PC has SonicStage, and Win98SE one - doesn't?

... Winamp is deaf even on XP computer...

Hello!

I have tried a plugin called "Daijoubu's ATRAC3 Plugin" for winamp and it plays oma files. I tried to play "ATRAC3+ OMA" files and it works!! But sometimes I can't understand why it crashes winamp when it plays atrac3+ oma files. Read this topic for more infos : "http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11640&mode=linear"
