And here are the options:a) passive battery box with linkwitz modded 2 pin capsules without highpass capacitor vs.b ) passive battery box with linkwitz modded 2 pin capsules with highpass capacitor vs.c) passive battery box with non moded 2 pin capsules vs.d) passive battery box with non moded 3 pin capsules (with internal resistors) vs.e) active battery box (a preamp inother words) with modded or non modded 2 pin vs 3 pin.f) and if preamp then which ICAll ideas will be appreciatedBest regards Edited November 9, 2005 by Question Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
greenmachine Posted November 8, 2005 Report Share Posted November 8, 2005 I guess you're planning to use cardioids in xy-configuration? If you're certain about fixing the mics in a housing without any considerable distance in between - which i usually don't recommend - i'd go for d) with a highpass set somewhere below 20Hz (capacitor value at least 1uF). With a built-in power supply you can either use the mic- or line-in of your recorder, depending on the situation. A good preamp is more or less difficult to build/find and not really required if your recorder has a built-in pre or you plan to record exclusively at high SPLs.
