Prophetic
Hello, My drama teacher just booked my favorite singer/songwriter sarah slean at the local theatre (she works there). The theatre does not want you to record and the artist doesn't want you to but I simply must! And I also need a minidisc for recording my own piano/voice stuff... and pipe organ! So I was wondering what would be my best bet? I'll most likely be in front row, a little to the side... must hide the unit... thanks for any help. A440
NH700, NHF800, NH900, RH910, RH10 All about the same size, all with the same recording/upload abilities. See what's available and affordable near you. You'll also need a mic and either an attenuator or a battery box.www.jr.com has the RH910 for $170 shipped to the USBy the way, there's a reason they're called FAQ'shttp://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showt...993entry49993 Edited November 11, 2005 by A440
greenmachine
I think you should be fine even without attenuator/battery box for unamplified music. But be careful with you mic selection and placement, these are by far the most critical components.
Prophetic
Thank you. A440: I did read the FAQ but got nothing out of it. But thank you for your response.
A440
True--the FAQ will make more sense when you have an MD in hand.
e1ghtyf1ve
True--the FAQ will make more sense when you have an MD in hand. Anyway, I agree, for classical music these recorders are most definitely microphone limited. With a great set of mics and good placement I've discovered that you can get professional results even using Hi-SP. A440
As I've mentioned elsewhere, I've recorded classical orchestras with microphone straight into Mic-In. Like other unamplified music, the results are as good as the mics.
