A3000! HELP!

Well...1st things 1st.

I have to say, I am VERY disapointed in sony!

Opened my Christmas presents today, got the NWA3000, rushed upstairs to start transfering music...Ahhh! Not as easy as it sounds!!!

What the hell is up with Connect!!? I think i have a pretty fast system, 2.8 P4, 512 meg of ram, but connect brought my pc down to a standstill! And i didnt even get any music on it!

I then tried sonicstage through my dads reccomendation. then i realise. Ah. No WMA support on the NWA3000...Damn, all my 200 ripped cds are in WMA! Ah well, no harm, will just convert them all to atrac.

But everytime i try copying a cd across it fails on one or 2 tracks, which is very annoying as most of my albums all interlinc between tracks, so theyall got muddled up.

Can anyone give me a guide on how to get going? Is there any 3rd party software i can download?

I just got the connect update, will install it now.

One more question. Does anyone know anything about the docking station?!

When i plug it into the charger, then to the usb, windows doesnt pick it up as being connected, it is very annoying as it cost me £25!!!!

So far no firmware update has been released for WMA support as far as I know. CP supports WMA but will convert it to atrac when transferring to the player.

I am on a P3 600mhzEB intel, with 512ram, 256 video card, and XP SP2 and the player seems to be running faster for me than you apparently. It starts up a bit long

3-5 min max, and closes within 3-5 seconds. Importing is fast and transferring is a breeze too.

I don't use SS for the player, no point since some features will not work.

No 3rd party software yet, but there is a member working on one here.

I recommend getting the latest CP update and it should work fine. As for the craddle, can't help you there, but I am thankful I didn't buy it since I was planning on buying one. have you tried switching the cable to a different USB port?

Problem solved! Cradle works fine. theres efectivley 2 usbs and i had them in the wrong way - Stupid me!!

Right-I have HAD it with Connect/sonicstage!

All i want to do, is put one 40meg album on my new player, and i've been waiting here for 5minutes after connect said it was loading! And now its not even appearing. God i hate it.

I downloaded the new firmware and the software upgrade. Which took me ages to work out...

Anyone know how to FIX connect?

Or how to install the update properly?

I will not recommend you to use Connect if you are facing problem with it then use Sonic Stage ver3.3...Atleast it will be useable atleast...

I have had the docking station since it came out in UK and think it is excellent, use it all the time. As for Connect, we are running it on A Mesh desktop AMD 3500+ and a Sony Viao Laptop with no problems what so ever. My son has a 4GB Black Ipod Nano on his Time AMD 2200 desktop and can honestly say that connect is a better program than itunes (in my opinion).

My son is 10 years old and he prefers connect saying "that it is easier to use and quicker than his itunes".

I heard that the Ipod Nano is easily scratched, so I bought cover and protection for it.

My son and I were very careful putting on silicone cover and yet still managed to scratch the bloody thing.

So having experience with NWA 3000, NWA 1000 and Ipod Nano I think I can honestly say that I prefer the Sony's for there better sound quality and the easier to use Connect software.

PS just got email from Amazon that my Sony SRS-NWM10 Speaker Docking Station has just been despatched, will see how quick post office is after xmas holiday period.
