Question

Me again!

I imported some of my CDs into SS, making them MP3@192kbps, they are taking-up just less than 6GB on my hard drive. I set it transfering to my HD5 at 7.15pm (1hr45 ago) and it's still only at 27% (they are converting to Atrac as they transfer, and through a USB 2.0 hub)

I'm not sure if I should be worried about it or not! Should it be taking this long?

Thanks.

Since your files are in mp3 and the transfer to the player is in Atrac, then it is normal that the process should take long. Transferring 6GB of music should be very fast without the conversion.

What you could do is just transfer as mp3s, or you could stop the transfer process, convert all your files overnight and transfer them very rapidly the next day.

Don`t use USBhub to Connect your Device for optimum performance Connect your Device directly to PC

I f i`m able to understand your question then why are you importing your tracks from Cd in Mp3 ..If you want them In Atrac...Directly rip your Cd to Atrac.

But if you want your Songs in Mp3 format in Hd5 then set the tranfer mode to "Standrad transfer mode" instead of Specified bit rate transfer mode"

Thanks Dinko and Stuge

I am transfering CD to MP3 so that I can use them for non-Atrac devices too.

I am putting them onto my HD5 in Atrac because it means the battery will last longer.

I will have to grovel around behind the computer to find the 'real' USB port, but that's what I'll do next time

Thanks again :ol_biggrin:
