CONNECT Player problems

Question

:ol_angry: Hello All,

I have just purchased a NW-A608 and I keep getting an internal error message from the CONNECT Player software when it tries to access the Gracenote website. The message is "CDDB server can't be found". This is very annoying. Has anyone found a solution to it? I am running XP Home Edition with IE 6 and Norton Anti-virus. Any help much appreciated.

Kev,

Welcome to "AtracLife"

It seems that you are having firewall enabled .Please disable it when Connect player tries to access the Gracnote website.

Also Update your Connect Player

Stuge,

I have disabled both the default XP firewall and Norton firewall and updated to the latest version of CONNECT Player, but still have the same problem. I am also using freeserve as my ISP (if that makes a difference?).

thanks, Kev

Unless you have a router, but that can't be it since I have one and never got that problem. In the preferences, there is an option on how it connects to the server, via proxy or directly, choose the direct option, perhaps that will fix your problem.

I just have a basic dial-up connection and disabled the proxy connection. Still no joy though.

I think it is related to your Dial-up connection because of its slow speed .I use to have same type of problem with Sonic Stage when I use to connect Internet via Dial-up four months back.

Ok thanks, looks like I might have to invest in broadband. Is there another way to extract CD info and import it into something like SS or CONNECT player?

Have you tried Sonic Stage ver3.3 because it is much faster in accessing internet.

You can go www.gracenote.com from there you can find your cd info but i doubt there some other way to import Cd info into Connect or Sonic Stage

Just installed SonicStage 3.3 and it works a treat. No problems accessing Gracenote. Great. Another reason why not to use Connect Player.
