Pug
When I edit track/album details (song names, genre etc) in sonicstage does it save the details in a tag or the sonictage "database"?I'm in the process of converting all my MP3's, CD's and MD's to atrac and I like the idea of editing the atrac files in SS after the import, but i don't want to loose these edits once if I decide to burn to CD and transfer to a 2nd PC.edit: I'm using latest SSCheersPug Edited December 13, 2005 by Pug
atrain
best way to find out is copy some of your imported drm free oma files to anohter computer using sonicstage. if you don't have another one pm me one & i'll put it in my library & tell you what it says.btw my assumption is that it's in the file, rather like id3 tags in mp3. Pug
Thanks for the offer atrain, but I have tested myself instead of being lazy!If you edit at the track level then the tags are saved within the track tags (Multiple cover art is saved in the tracks which is quite nice!). (ratings are not saved)However any editing at Album level are retained on the computer that made the edits.CheersPug
KrazyIvan
So it is a combination of the two? I was doing some file cleaning the other day and ran into what seemed to be an Access database file in my SS directory. I decided not to mess with it since SS is so picky. I did not want to corrupt it.
akijikan
just opening wouldn't corrupt it...only if you saved any changes.
atrain
the access database iirc, where the track managment stuff is. don't quote me i'm sure it used to be important back in the limited checkout days.
zerodB
IIRC, there was also tag information at the end of *.omg files in XML format.
