logan0215
New here...Well to add to my rich tradition of single act recordings, I recorded last night and bought a brand new AIWA mic to go along with it. Act II came out perfectly, and Act I recorded and saved, but now I have a disc error.... I'm looking for any insight on how I could salvage this recording and retrieve the information... Trying a diff MDR? Prying it open and putting it in another case? HELPthanks
akijikan
what model recorder are you using?
leaf
First of all, it matters on what recorder you have. Second, it matters in what format you recorded in.What I have heard is possible is to TOC clone from another disc (that TOC would consist of one track spanning the entire disc, at the same format that you recorded it on.)Did the recorder lose power before the TOC was written? When my sharp dr7 worked I was super anal about power cycling it after every track (if I had time) just to constantly update the TOC.good luck, a lost recording is a super bummer. logan0215
My MDR is a SONY MDWalkman Digital Recorder - MZ-R70I was able to record fully, TOC Edit, and Save data... as far as I know the recording is fully intact on the disc but their is a read error. When I insert the disc, it cues up like its going to play, gets to saying 00 0:00, then starts blinking DISC ERRORI'm sorry if I can't give much else detail, I'm not sure of what the format is I recorded... I usually just plug and go. This seems to be more related to the disc itself than the player because it recorded and plays back Act II perfectly
A440
The MZ-R70 is one of the old-school, SP-only recorders. It's pretty old, so something might be wearing out, but from your description it sounds like it's a defective disc. If you know anyone else with any kind of MD recorder, they all play SP. You might try playing the disc back on another unit, and see if you get lucky.
