willtonMD
I thought that SS was supposed to recognise pcm wav files - but i have encountered a problem:Ive upgraded to SS3.3 and installed HiMDRenderer and left a deposit on marcnet. Ive uploaded a digitally recorded track from my HiMD RH10 to SS, then ive converted it to WAV using HiMDRenderer. Ive edited the wav file using nero wave editor and then imported the track back into SS library ..... it is listed there but it wont play!! When i click on the play icon or dbl click the track, zero happens!! The file is shown in the library and all seems ok, apart from in the properties for the track the "track info" and "lyrics notes" windows are greyed out - i.e not editable.I imported back into SS the virgin wav which HiMDRenderer produced and that wont play either. However if i save the wav files as wma or mp3 from Nero it works.I played around a bit more with this and then got the "Cannot load the rights information.." error, but only with the first wav i loaded. So then I removed all the files from the SS library and reimported the original wav file - and now im back to where i started, it simply doesnt play! This seems to be the case with any wav file i import. If i convert the wav into an atrac format, and then only when i delete the original wav file from the track properties;file info window can i play the track. It would appear that the track is 'not allowed as a wav' for some reason, but SS is supposed to support wav files !!Have i missed something here or done something wrong?Happy holidays and wishing everyone a great new year. Syrius
Try editing with something else but Nero (Audacity, for example, which is free.) I've had Nero muck up some FLACs I edited with it, so I think that's where the problem stems from.Or maybe one of your HI-MD Renderer Dlls might be corrupt. It doesn't hurt to re-download them. A440
Maybe I'm hallucinating, because I can't find it in the menus of SS 3.3, but I seem to remember some checkbox somewhere saying something like "Apply DRM to this recording." It was checked by default, but could be unchecked. If you've got a previous version of SS, look through the Options, including the Advanced settings, to see if that's being applied. Or upgrade to 3.3.
willtonMD
Try editing with something else but Nero (Audacity, for example, which is free.) But this is the same with 'any' wav file, not just the HiMDRendered one.Or maybe one of your HI-MD Renderer Dlls might be corrupt. It doesn't hurt to re-download them. Its not specific to the HiMDRendered file - any pcm wav wont play.I seem to remember some checkbox somewhere saying something like "Apply DRM to this recording." Or upgrade to 3.3.I am using 3.3, recently upgraded from 3.2. I dont know if this worked before - i had not tried it before the upgrade.
