akijikan
If I make SP discs via SS 3.3 and an MZ-N707, will they play on the Non-MDLP MDX-C7900 minidisc car stereo?
mercury_in_flames
yeah, thats what the SP function is for. It will be 'fake' sp, so in 132 bit rate, but it will play back on a non mdlp player.
akijikan
That was my logic as well, however, I ran across this on the Minidisc Switzerland "Known Problems" page for the MDX-C7900mdx-7900 car audio MD/CD changer stereo by SONYHere we go ;-( My MD mdx-7900 radio plays exc! But it refuses to let me hear sound from the MD. It reads the disc and shows the text but NO sound. HELP? Suggestions. Incidentily, the MDs do play well on my SONY homePC an MXs-20. Also, the MD are SONY brand. (Could it be the speed I burn the MD or the SW (SoundStage?)Remarks:Reported by Expander2000 (22.01.2004 21:56:10):If you used a NET-MD recorder with software like SonicStage, then yeah your MDX-7900 won't read it because of the encryption the software bundles with the audio tracks regardless of quality or speed. Also remember that the 7900 does not support MDLP, only "true" SP and MONO.

akijikan
Eh, I'd love to, but I have no experience installing car stereos and I don't know if I need a special plug to connect it, and yadda yadda yadda
mercury_in_flames
ah, i see. I guess the only thing you can do is just go for an ebay'ed one or just look around at the brick and mortar stores and see what turns up, if ther are any places which sell car units there.
