Fixing broken SHN files

Hey all, I'd really appreciate some insight on this one...

Does anyone know if it is possible to fix damaged SHN files? I seem to remember something from one of my computer classes about compressed data becoming worthless if it gets corrupted, but is that really the case? I downloaded a concert recording, and all the files fail the .md5 check. I assume each file has the same problem, since each one decodes into a 4KB wav file that doesn't play.

Is there a tool that will decode through errors, or fix the files? I'm not afraid to open them in a text editor and try removing some extra data that is causing the errors. Thanks in advance for any help.
