henriette
My laptop where I want to use sonicstage on only allows me to install when I am logged in as administrator, this I have then done, but i am then not able to use sonicstage when I am logged in under my normal user id. I get the messageYou are logged on as a limited account user. some sonicstage functions are not available....How do I get around this, I dont want to work from my admin account... Should I just hand the walkman back and get an ipod?
atrain
why don't you want to work with the admin mode?
raintheory
You should be able to right-click the sonicstage icon and choose "run as..." and run it as an administrator.Alternately you can log in as administrator and then change your normal login (under control panel/user accounts) to have administrative rights. kiwi_jen
kiwi_jeni am a new user of sonicstage and cant get passed the fact that the user must have admin rights... i dont want my daughter having admin rights as I've had to rebuild my pc twice now!! I have done the "run as" but it only is as good as the current logon session. Once the user logs out of sonicstage the "run as" command is gone. Can anyone tell me if its possible to have the "run as" command saved permanently for a program as she is a "limited user" but I want her to have admin rights for sonicstage without having to select the "run as" feature for the program every time she wants to use it, rather defeats the purpose.Look forward to hearing if anyone can help. Thanx
curls
I haven't tried this so I don't know if it actually works, but I have read that if you give the user admin rights, install a program whilst logged in as that user, then take away the users admin rights, the user retains admin rights to that program. It's worth a try.Disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything - at all - ever. I know this because my wife is always telling me I am irresponsible. edit: I found the website where I read it: http://www.chm.bris.ac.uk/pc/tech/rwar_notes.php Edited November 11, 2006 by curls
