ljadkins
First off I already own several Sony products a Sony (TC-615S cassette deck with Dolby S no less), the first fm walkman, an am/fm/cassette walkman, MZ-N505 NET MD walkman, and I have just ordered Sony MZ-RH910 Hi-MD walkman. Even my kids own Sony portable CD players. The only reason I ordered the new Hi-md walkman is because of the changes in the new version of SonicStage. It looks like Sony has gotten rid of all of the anal-retentive digital rights management @#%*&. I Have always liked Sony's electronic products. And when Sony bought the movie studios and the record companies I understood that the Betamax flop left a bad taste in there mouth. Any new media format would have a ready supply of content. With the new man in charge maybe things will change I hope so. I still have a large collection of LP's and cassette's that I have not converted over to mini-disk or CD. At one time I would record all my LP's over to cassette for the car and portable walkman. Playing with my MZ-N505 NET MD walkman I can see that all the connections are right there to do what I want. First of all the analog section of my MD portable is better than any sound card I have ever installed in my computer. I would like to use my MD walkman like a USB sound card using the headphone's to listen to every thing music on my computer or the mini disk in the player this includes optical in from the md player. Take a look at all the devices out there used to do this on the market now. Sony could take a page from Microsoft's playbook on this by incorporating these new functions pioneered by others. It's time for Sony electronics to leapfrog the competition. The Apple Mac got it's customer base on the strength of a hand full of software applications one of these is photo shop. Total Sonic Solution Sony should dominate the market in digital audio creation, editing, and dissemination. Such a system would be perfect for pod casting.
