I just got a net MD that I ordered online. I set up the drivers and install the sonic stage etc etc. So now I try to check out a playlist and/or individual songs(ive tried it all) and I always get an error saying it cant transfer songs or it just stops at a certain percentage. I have an extensive library and have tried a TON of different songs, all formated in mp3 format, non of them transfer correctly.

please read the faqs at the top of the software support forum, where this thread is/will be moved to.

I have... I dont see any symptoms that explain exactly what I am experiencing.

edit: I updated to 3.4. now it works a little better but it sucks because it seems like it always spits up an error if i dont do the songs one at a time... anyone know about a problem like this?

Ok... I guess not a soul is going to hear me out. Am I missing something on the stickies? If so is it too much to kindly link me too it? If thats too much to ask around here, would anyone mind pointing me in the direction of another forum that would be willing to help? Because, frankly I am getting quite peeved at my little device.

You really need to narrow down exactly what is giving you trouble.

SonicStage has been known to have problems with low-bitrate mp3s (48kbps), with variable bitrate (VBR) mp3s, and with mp3s that have very long titles.

SonicStage also has trouble if you are trying to connect through a USB hub rather than a port on the computer. And it needs a lot of resources, so you can't run a lot of programs with it simultaneously, and you need to have some free space on your hard drive. You also need a fairly fast processor in your computer.

Can you find one mp3 that consistently gives you trouble and send in its details? And can you send in your system specs and how you are connecting PC to MD?

I see. Ok, I dont think resources or processor space or hard drive is a problem for my machine as its got an amd64 3200+ with 2.5 gigs of ram, and a 250 gb hd. But the problem is random, I usually can get any song to work after some tinkering around with it. But the main problem is that this happens all the time when I try to send a whole playlist or more than one song at a time. So in consequence I have to do it one by one, converting to ATRAC3 and then sending it over and repeating the process. The other problem is that it locks up on songs around 95% usually ALL THE TIME, I even left my comp once for a like 20 mins and it still was sitting at 95% when I got back. I'll try and find specific ones next time I import, but my whole library is 256kbps mp3 files(which I converted from AAC before putting them on my pc in iTunes).

Btw, thanks for the help.

Calm down. -_-

Welcome. Do you have the latest Windows Updates? What Service Pack do you have? Have you tried completely reinstalling via the directions in the FAQ?

I have windows xp pro corp. ed. SP1. I have reinstalled it, yes. I even took advantage of my windows that was working poorly and reinstalled the whole windows xp OS. It works better than 1.5, but I still have a major problem transfering more than one song, or more than one playlist... do you think its a software problem? Or worse?(hardware).

We don't have all the answers. Sony don't have all the answers.

There are literally millions of possible configurations under which SS could be running. It's impossible for us to know the exact conditions under which you experience your problem. We are not sitting at your computer, knowing what your hardware is, knowing every piece of software you've installed, and knowing how you've configured everything. All we can do is take whatever information your give us and do our best to match it with known problems.

That said, your patience would be appreciated.
