NetMD Disc Compatibility with Other Players

I own two minidisc portables-the MZ-R37 and the NetMD MZ-N505. I have the 505 hacked so I can play repeats on it. My plan was to transfer audio files from my PC to the 505 and then seamlessly loop them with the repeat 1 function. Unfortunately, there is a slight skip when they repeat. I never had a skip on my R37 so I tried to put the disc in that player. The R37 recognizes the NetMD disc and all the tracks but when you play them no audio comes out. What is up?

Is there a way to make the NetMD disc so it works on older players? I used MP3 and Sonic Stage Burner. If there is no way to do this, is it possible to make the 505 do a seamless repeat?

Thanks for all your help,

Chris

The R37 only plays SP. The N505 plays SP, LP2 and LP4. You're probably transferring your music to the N505 as LP2 or LP4. Look through the Transfer settings on SonicStage, switch to SP, and your R37 should be able to play the transferred songs (but of course you won't get as many on the disc).

Don't know about the looping on the N505--perhaps someone else can help.

Well-

I tried it and it plays back on my R37 so thats good. Unfortunately, the R37 is not repeating seamlessly. I tried the R37 with another disc of things I recorded on it with a mic and it loops seamlessly. For some reason, there is a slight pause when it repeats the disc from the N505 transfer. Arrgh. I would edit the end point of the track but it says TR protect and from what I've read I can't get around that.

So, unless anyone has anymore suggestions I believe I've come to the end of the line. Thanks for all your help!

Chris
