Hi to everybody!

I'm a new italian user. Sorry for my english, but i have a problem with my MD.

I have the minidisc Sony MZR70 with a michrophone Sony ECM70P. Today i have try to do a little recording from the michrophone, and then when i go listen it i listen only in the right headphone. Why? Is there a reason? The michrophone is not broken, it work good.

Thanks to everybood help me

Thanks greenmachine for help me.

What is the meter? When i listen a prerecorded MD i get sound on both channel. I know that the microphone work because it recorder both left and right, the problem is when i listen the recording.

I think that the reason is the jack

Thanks

Plug your microphone into your computer's mic jack (red) and start a recording program like Audacity (free from Downloads up above on the right) by pushing the red button. Are you recording on both sides that way?

If you are, then the problem is with your mic jack. It needs to be repaired, which could be expensive unless you know a good honest electronics repairman. You may be better off buying a new minidisc recorder.

You're right, greenmachine. When I have recorded with my binaural mics through the mic jack with Audacity, I would always get a two-channel waveform. But I see now, after testing, that it was simply duplicating one channel and ignoring the other.

Bartolo 37 needs to test his mic on another stereo recorder to see if it's the mic or the mic jack.

Or he can try using his headphones as a stereo mic. Plug them into the MD's mic jack and give each headphone a sharp tap. It should register loud enough to record. If sound is coming through both channels then the mic is the problem.

I have understand where is the mistake, is the extension cord of the microphone!!

When i connect the microphone without the extension then i listen on both sides, when i connect the microphone with the extension then i listen only in the right channel!

Thanks friends
