ryankee
Hey guys, I bought a mz rh910 in June, and have loved it. Its fantastic. Just recently however, I've noticed that when I turn the "hold" button on, and I try to open it...it pops open and stops my minidisk. This is NOT something that it used to do. When the hold button is on, it still has the same functions for the controls...I can't pause, or advance the track and the flashing "hold" comes up, but if I try to open it...it just comes open. THis is terribly annoying if its in my pocket and I accidentally joggle it. I'm thinking that perhaps its a firmware issue. Does anyone have any insight on this? I don't want to have to ship it to the states to get it fixed by sony, cause I live in Switzerland now. I know you guys are the guru's and know all things minidisc, so please someone help me!! Thanks. RYan
greenmachine
The door is only locked while recording / writing /editing. During playback there's no lock so i suppose it's normal behavior. The 'hold' botton just locks the control buttons, not the door.

Thats not it, because I distinctly remembering when I first bought the unit that the hold locked the door, because I disticntly remember thinking to myself "wow, thats a killer feature. Qwakrz
The only time the door is locked on my NH1, RH10 and R900 are during recording or file transfer. The door becomes unlocked during playback or after TOC edit has happened even when the unit is locked.
