Sony_Fan
I normaly use Simple Burner, but I wanted to try transferring music with SS 3.4 I import music from CD with ATRAC3+ 256 into my library and then I transfer them to my RH10. I listened to the tracks and I noticed on a couple of tracks the songs skipped. I'm using a new Mindisc so that should not be the problem. So either the skipping occurs during the compression or the transfer phase. This never happened with Simple Burner. Anyone else experience this? Dko
yeah i have the same problem. do you also get a popping sound in the recording as well? dont know what the problem is as someone else suggested it may be caused by codecs (nnamely, FFDShow)
A440
It may well be a codec problem. Some versions of FFDshow don't play nicely with SonicStage. But if it's not, it also might be a Windows multitasking problem. SonicStage needs a lot of computer resources. If you were web-surfing, reading email, playing video games or doing anything with graphics, SonicStage might just have stuttered a bit as your computer tried to cope with all the demands on its electronic brain. Try running SonicStage with as few other processes going on as possible.

Should I disable that while using SS?yeah i have the same problem. do you also get a popping sound in the recording as well? dont know what the problem is as someone else suggested it may be caused by codecs (nnamely, FFDShow)Yes, I did notice popping sounds on the tracks that would skip. I've converted MP3s to ATRAC3+ and then transferred to Hi-MD and have had no skipping. So I'm starting to think that it's the compression software that's the problem. I normally use SB to transfer to Hi-MD, but it doesn't have a "high" recording setting like SS 3.4. That's why i wanted to use SS.

I normally used Simple Burner to transfer to my NetMD but I just bought a Vaio Pocket and transferred 7 CDs to it using SS 3.4. At least one track on each of the seven albums skipped. I totally uninstalled all SonicStage related software, installed the latest Windows Service Pack and then did a fresh install of SS 3.4. Everything works fine now, but I did have to re-rip my CDs. The OMG files that were in my "Optimized Files" folder coundn't be loaded, giving some DRM-related error. Luckily, I still had the CDs.SonicStage is not bad, but Digital Rights Management stinks!
