MZ-NH1 transfer speed?

I coulden't find anywhere that said the MZ-NH1 transfer speed so I worked it out from the

40sec per cd in Artac3plus 48kbps

As they worked out there results by assuming the average CD is 60min (Yeh right) but anyway, I got the result 4.21875 MB/s Is this for a gig disc or the 80, 74 and 60 min hi-md formatted discs?

Or have I done the calculation wrong...

Any can anyone tell me if this

Is faster then the MZ-NH1 and if its slower than the MZ-RH1?

Actually, for 80-minute discs, it's about 4.8 megaBITS per second (Mbps), not MB. The 1GB discs claim transfer rates of up to 9Mbps, but in reality it's probably closer to 6Mbps. In any case, the actual transfer rate is somewhere around 500KBps, not 4MBps. The new RH1 is supposed to have doubled this.

So why would sony realease that infomation?

Not the speed of a Hi-MD disc?

The NH1 is the fastest MD unit so far, I expect the RH1 to be faster. Incidentally, HiMD units write music data (ATRAC at least) faster than dragged-and-dropped file data.

My (limited) experience with file transfers and my mz-nh1 was-

Around the 1MB mark for file uploads, slower when downloading to MD,

and from what I could tell, yeah music transfers from sonicstage seem to go somewhat faster.
