logan0215
Well I'm completely fed up with my Sony MZ-R70 (skipping recordings, disc errors, overall disatisfaction) and am ready to move on via eBay.What I want to know is what MDRs have the USB-transfer capability? I'm tired of transferring in realtime and I have sooooo many to transfer. I had bought a Griffon iMic, but it's just too time consuming at this point.I'm also trying to stay in a very cheap price range. I'd say below $50USD. I'll probably sell my former to put toward the new one, but nonetheless, any help would be greatly appreciated!P.s I'm new on this board and quite a newbie with MDRs, so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum, so if neccessary, please move it to where it would belong and get the best response. Thanks! Edited April 9, 2006 by logan0215

Only one unit will upload your old MD recordings--the MZ-RH1, which is not going to be available until May or June. Keep saving: it's going to cost around $300. Under $50 won't even get you a decent mp3 player. http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/...tem/SONY-MZ-RH1

Why wouldn't any MDR play my MiniDiscs? I'm just looking for any MDR that has a USB port and under $50.

A440
You don't just need a USB port. You need a USB port and firmware in the MD unit that does what you want. The USB port on NetMD recorders is only for downloading from computer to MD. The USB port on current Hi-MD recorders is also for downloading and will upload new recordings in Hi-MD formats (not your old MD recordings) to computer. They will play back your old MDs, which you can continue to record in realtime with the iMic. They will not upload MD recordings. The only unit that will upload your old recordings is the MZ-RH1, still to be released. Until it arrives, nothing will upload your old MD recordings. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6330http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070As for under $50...well, best of luck. logan0215
OhFrom what I was told about the USB feature was you could plug in from USB to USB and it would take the information (a la digital camera) and transfer it. I guess I'm totally wrong. Either way, I'm ready to move on to a new mp3 player from the frought with problems that both my and my friends MZ-R70 have developed.
