darcman23
Hey there folks. I perform in my one man show and I am looking for a great minidisc player/recorder which is the most user friendly of them all. I pretty much need a unit which will allow me to use a footswitch to start it and stop it and possibly cue up to the beginning of the song on each track. I want to be able to use this on stage and I want it to work and sound as proffessionally as possible. I was thinking about the SONY MZ-B100 recorder, I was just wondering what you guys thought of it. What do you think, is it a good unit for me, does it sound good, easy to record with, cues up, and most importantly, can I use a footswitch with it to start and stop it? Thanks a lot, from a total novice, yours truly, Darcy Chubbs

Thanks a lot, from a total novice, yours truly, Darcy ChubbsWell; i was a one man band for about 25 years; sang for over 40 years; it was my "Living"; and i would NOT use this MZ-B100 if i were you; (there is NO "line out" as far as i can see)!!!!you need a line out;; don't you?as far as foot pedal; unless you have an electrician wire one up; you are out of luck IMO.if i were you; i'd look for a PRO MD Deck; i DJ'd with them and they are great.i have talked MANY local acts here; most of them one or two man acts; to use MD Decks and they love them.you may have to rely on a remote control; but there are ways to make up a foot control to press certain remote buttons.i (rayzray) wouldn't TRUST my reputation to SMALL units that look like they would fall apart at any time; especially for pro use.you are barking up the right tree; just the wrong way; and with the wrong models.there are MANY advantages of using MD's (like setting up "sets"; and medlys) i assume these are for your background music.well; i am sure the other guys/gals will advise you wisely too; but i lived your experience; and always had the best and the right equipment.
