biccyg
I have managed to install the connect player software after the second attempt and it seems to run ok, just for info I am running xp with 756ram and a 2800 processor. As I was keen to get my player I decided to rip all my tracks into mp3 using winamp at 192 kps. I then used Audio tags editor to update all the id tags from gracenote etc.I now have albums all ripped at the same time using the same software, they load into the library window when I select the direcotory and all of the tracks play on the albums using the connect software. I then transfer the album onto the walkman and some of the tracks are incompatable and some play fine, I am assuming there is a problem with the transfer?????Has anybody got any ideas? Ascariss
I've had this happen to some individual tracks, always the same ones, never others, so my assumptions is that file is screwed up and I will most likely have to re encode it. C_player
The other option is that the song has something in the tags that is not compatible with what the Walkman can display. This happens on some odd characters that are non-standard. To test this, try to clear all the tags out of a song that won't transfer and see if it goes. If it does, you know what the problem is. Ascariss
All the tags are fine on mine, to remedy ths problem I just need to retransfer it sometimes again and it works.

I'm curious to see if I have something in my library like that, that doesn't work when you transfer the first time but works every time after that. biccyg
The tracks I were having problems with were 'Get Your Walk On' by Xzibit, 'Learn To Fly' and 'Breakout' by the 'Foo Fighters' and 'Insomnia' by 'Faithless'. I have not listed them all here but they are nothing special and there are no special characters in the tags etc. I have since ripped the 'Xzibit' album in Connect Player and it has all transfered fine, not sure I have the patience for all my albums though......I am going to give sonic stage a try next so will keep you posted.......Ta,

biccyg
Hi Again,I have just installed sonic stage alongside connect. I transferred all my albums onto the player with Sonic Stage, after transfer I was told that to use compatable software but all of the albums seemed to transfer fine. All the tracks I was having problems with are now fine.To enable the player functions not supported by sonic stage I then disconnected the player and closed down sonic stage. I then loaded connect player cleared the library and then re-connected the player. I then pressed sync. After the sync had completed I disconnected the player and the majority of un-supported options i.e. the various shuffles and favourites are now working. The only option not working seems to be the artist link, but I have never seen this work even when I just used connect player.....So, if you are having problems with connect, transfer your songs using sonic stage and then run connect and sync your device to enable the extra functions....please let me know if you have found this useful....Ta,
