Tiesto
Hello and welcome, let's start with that the minidisc is the best format for live recording. Well, the RH910 is right choice according to your necessities, but if you can wait a bit you should look for the new MZ-RH1 which it will be the best live recoding machine to the date. Take a look here

A440
In the US, you can get nearly any Hi-MD now for under $200--except the NH1, which is too fancy for its own good, and the new RH1, not available here yet. The RH models (except for the new RH1) are 2005 models. They play back mp3, but with reduced sound quality, along with Sony's own ATRAC format. The NH models are from 2004. To play mp3s on them, the mp3s need to be converted into ATRAC, a simple process. All these recorders have the same recording hardware and all can upload the recordings to your computer (PC only, not Mac), as well as download music from the computer (mp3s or ripping directly from the CD drive). MZ-NH700 and NHF800 (the same as NH700 plus AM/FM/TV/Weather radio in the remote) both run on an AA battery--you could easily buy an AA battery recharger, which I use, and I like them because you can usually find an AA battery when you need one. http://www.minidisco.com and http://www.minidiscaccess.com both have them for around $150, and you can also find new ones for slightly less on Ebay. Check the seller's feedback, etc. NH900 uses a rechargeable gumstick battery, but has had bugs and has some design features I don't like: hard to read display, loose battery latch, Pause and Stop on the same button (complicated to explain but a bad idea). RH910 runs on a rechargeable gumstick battery, and seems to be a reliable unit, although the case is prone to scratches and fingerprints. RH10 is the same as the RH910 plus a very pretty lighted display on the unit. If you are absolutely sure you will never need microphone recording, you could look at the MZ-RH710 or the MZ-NH600 (NOT the NH600D, a different unit), which have line-in jacks (for recording an electronic output) but not mic-in jacks. Don't get: MZ-NH600D (no input except USB), MZ-DH10P (no input except USB, pricey because it includes a camera).

RobA
Well based on your needs the NH700 sounds like the best option, you can find it for ~$120 on ebay shipped. You can also use rechargeable AA's and AA's get much longer battery life actually. The NHF800 is also nice if you want a radio, ~$150 on ebay shipped. NH900 is a good unit for recording, with better sound quality with a HD Digital Amp, but it has some problems with battery life. 10 hours on the rechargeable gumstick, but if you don't mind using the AA attachment, you can get up to 35 with both attached. The 2nd gens directly play mp3s, but transfering to ATRAC is really no hassle at all. You CANNOT record live or from line in mp3 format, only Atrac3plus. You can get the RH910 cheap, as you have seen. You might also be able to find an RH10 for under 200, which has an absolutely gorgeous OLED display. It is worth the money, but both models can scratch easily and only get about 10 hours of battery life per the gumstick. But of course you can attach the AA to get around 35 like the NH900. I don't recommend the RH1 as it is out of your price range, and it is really not worth the extra money anyway as it only has a 1 line display and has no real functions to be a good player. If you are ONLY recording and nothing but recording, then it will do fine, but not really any better than other units. As you don't have any legacy tracks to upload. Nehemoth
For 20 Dollars More i believe i'll take the RH910 Route , i don't really care in use the AA attachment (it comes with the MiniDisc??), The Attrac plus its better than MP3 so i will use that format later in the PC i supposse i can transform to Audio CD (maybe with a Plugin for nero??), also i supposed that the 910 its are less one generation over the NH700. Concerning the Scrach problem maybe i can get a cover protector for it (with this i'm really crazy, so as i'm very carefully with my thing i really like to protects my investments).Soon i believe that i'll be a super user here, this forum rocks and that because yours...Thank for the help....Any last advice before place the order tomorrow???I will place it on amazon, i really likes they're service..Ohhh yes something else, my ears don't let me use the kind of speaker that comes with this unit.i like the air head speaker but the ones that are very low profile..Do you have any recomendation?? The RH10 is well worth money for the OLED screen.

Try searching Amazon when you purchase your unit, and see what they have for headphones, you should be able to get something decent for $30 to $50. RobA
excusme rob what backlit means??That the screen has a light on it, so it is visible at night and in the dark. The LCD screen on the rh910 is not backlit. The rh10 uses oled, so it is very bright and can be seen very easily in the dark and at night. The screen is also very eye pleasing I must say. Also I own headphones almost exactly like that from sony. Got them for 9.99 at FYE. They are fantastic and very comfortable, much better than my px200s. Tiesto
I live in a warm city and for outdoor usage the headband headphones are uncomfortable because your ears get hot easily and start to sweat. My solution for street is the earphones, you know, those tiny speakers inside your ears. Check out these ones here

Tiesto
The headphone matter is very subjective, the only way to know what headphones are the appropriate for each one it is trying oneself For example, my headphones are:for street[attachmentid=1689] for home[attachmentid=1690]
