ivanbuto
Hi,I bought my minidisc player in the U.S., but have now moved back home to Slovakia, Europe. The power adaptor that I have - Sony AC-ES3010K2 - is stated to have an input of 120V only. However, I have heard that allegedly somebody tried their chances and used the adapter in a European power outlet, and it worked without getting burned.Does anyone have an experience that would confirm this story, or is it unlikely? Thanks!Ivan
Ishiyoshi
Do not use your existing 120V AC Adaptor in a 230/240V environment without a transformer. Otherwise, you will just get a fried MiniDisc.Instead, you should try and acquire a Worldwide AC Power Adaptor (Sony has one as shown below: AC-E30A Rated Output of 3V DC, Rated Input of 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz and a Maximum Output Current of 1000mA DC) along with a Type E Slovakia adaptor plug; or a local AC Adaptor with identical specifications to the original Sony AC-ES3010K2. con spirito
sorry i am writitng at the same thread but it seems relevant; i have an adapter from my old r700, it states, 230 volt, output: 3 volt ,500 mA.Do you think i can use this one with an mz m100? the adapter that comes with it is 1000 mA. Avrin
No, MZ-M100 (and MZ-RH10) requires a 1000 mA adaptor. 500 mA is not enough for it. You will most certainly end up with a fried adaptor and/or MZ-M100. Edited May 30, 2006 by Avrin
antiorario
No, MZ-M100 (and MZ-RH10) requires a 1000 mA adaptor. 500 mA is not enough for it. You will most certainly end up with a fried adaptor and/or MZ-M100.Actually, the MZ-M100 original adaptor has an output current of 700mA. I was also thinking about buying an AC-E30A, since I'm in Italy and we have 220V. But I saw that the AC-E30A has a maximum output current of 1000mA and I thought the difference would fry my MZ-M100.I wouldn't see why Sony would sell adaptors that don't work with their existing equipment, but on the other hand, knowing Sony, it wouldn't shock me if they did.Can anyone on this forum provide me with a final, certain, absolutely safe answer? Is there anyone who has actually plugged an AC-E30A into the MZ-M100 and is still alive to confirm that it works? Thanks.

Thanks.I have employed the AC-E30A with the MZ-RH10 (which is similar to the MZ-M100) without any issues. Rest assured, it's absolutely safe.
