SonicStage has just write protected all my tracks

I ahve been usuing sonic stage for a while and lathough it has given me problems now it has just write protected all the tracks in my libary so cannot send anything to the disk even new tracks are coming up write protected.

I cna't find a menu anywhere to unprotect it any ideas please

I've got about the same problem:

with SonicStage 4 and minidisc model MZ-N10 (RECENTLY BOUGHT).

I can transfer audio files from PC to minidisc but I cannot transfer from minidisc to PC (I don't know the cause, just if like SPOOKYFE tracks are recorded as protected).

PLEASE HELP US TO GET USEFUL EMPLOYMENT FROM OUR MINIDISCS.

The MZ-N10 is a NetMD model. Only Hi-MD models can upload to PC.

Yes, I've found this problem and in the w/e knew the feature of my MD.

I'm going to chang this model from the seller, but:

EXCUSE ME -I'm new in the field of MD recording- IF I GET A hi-md MODEL:

1) WHEN TRANSFERED LIVE RECORDED TRACKS FROM MD TO PC, COULD I ELABORATE, FILTER AND THEN HAVE AUDIO DATA TO CREATE MP3 FILES OR WAVE FILES OR A CD DISC??

2) CAN AN hi-md MODEL READ md RECORDED TRACKS?

2) AND WILL IT BE POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER RECORDED AUDIO DATA FROM MINIDISC TO PC AND THEN FROM PC TO MINIDISC AS TIMES I WANT?

1) Yes. Once the tracks are on the PC, SonicStage can convert them to .wav and you can do anything you want with them.

2) Yes, Hi-MD reads MD. BUT except for the RH-1, it CANNOT upload those tracks to PC. Other Hi-MD models upload Hi-MD formats only: PCM, Hi-SP, Hi-LP. They can be recorded on old MDs or on 1GB Hi-MD discs.

The other 2) Once you have converted an uploaded file to .wav it is completely unprotected. You can send it to an MD, make mp3s, etc.

3) That is no longer true. I just transferred an uploaded track to MD, deleted it from My Library and from the computer, and uploaded it back again.

Just yesterday night I made my first recording on a live concert (I let every thing in automatic recording -Level: automatic and MIC sens: high-) and I 'm proud of the very good music I can listen at home..fabolous!!!

yes to all... but for the MP3 files to be playable by the machine, it needs to go through SonicStage (no conversion needed though)

The MZ-M100 is the same as the RH910, only with some limited Mac compatibility (which you don't need). It will do what you want, but if they are charging you a premium for it, then tell them you want the MZ-RH910 at the proper price instead. It should be $200 maximum.

The RH1 should be more, about $330. It's the very top of the line.

Hi Guys.

Finally I’ ve bought MZ-RH1, it is wonderful,

BUT I should need some indications from You expert users:

1)VERY IMPORTANT: I’ve recorded a live concert for fist time with OPEN AMBIENT and vVERY LOUD AMPLIFICATION conditions. I’ put recording settings: REC LEVEL: AUTO-AGC; MIC SENS: HIGH. The recording results with sound level in constant saturation and distortion.

I know you experts advise to use manual level but I can’t buy a battery pack control and it is very difficult for me to regulate the level in pause and with no experience in live recording.

SO COULD YOU INDICATE ME A REC LEVEL TO SET UP IN ORDER TO AVOID SURE SATURATION? (I know it depends on ambient conditions but You spoke about a level you generally set to be confidentially sure to have an acceptable recording for dynamic range)

2)In case of live recording of musicians performing in close ambient but without amplification (live groups with singing, tambours, maracas…) can I be sure to have a good recording with no saturation with REC LEVEL: AUTO-AGC; MIC SENS: HIGH or have I to set a manual level of recording that You can suggest???

3)I will bring on airplane the minidisk, so to avoid damages due to condensate for powerful air conditioning do you suggest to put the recorder in a closed plastic envelope or what?

4)Do you know what one have to do to avoid damages for RX rays in the airport for the minidisk? And for the minidisc supports??

Just 11 and 12 of this week I will record two concerts I like a lot.....

the problems I had with old model MD are old arguments.

I tested the MZ-RH1 only with SonicStage 4.0: in the box was included version 3.4 but I had on my PC the 4.0.

I have some problems with MD burner: the cd in the driver is not recognized with message "no disc in the driver", YOU?

For MD->PC transefer, I've just clicked on the <- narrow;

For PC->MD transefer, I've imported audio files in SonicStage DB and just clicked on the -> narrow;

Which particular problems did You get?

If you list I try to help you and some others will do too.

The only way to transfer recordings made with a NetMD is to use the MZ-RH1. No other hardware can upload NetMD recordings. It's not a software problem It is a hardware limitation built into every unit--NetMD or Hi-MD--except the MZ-RH1.

It' s the pure reality;

froma my experience:

my MZ-RH1 has transfered the live recording recorded with old NetMd (not Hi-Md)model; RH1 reads every track in Hi-Mode as default.
