Juda0326
Hi Everybody, I'm new to Minidisc and I'm sure that this has come up before. I just purchased a used Sharp MT80 and I'm having problems with either the recording skipping, or the playback skipping. There's no way for me to know which, since I only have one machine. In fact, This MT80 is a replacement for one I sent back for the same problem, which leads me to believe that the problem is not with the unit. I am recording a live band through a mixer with microphone, using the AC adopter (not batteries).Any thoughts? Thanks,Juda
eriktous
Are you using one disc, or have you tried with different discs?
Juda0326
Are you using one disc, or have you tried with different discs? Thanks for the reply,The problem was solved when I used a new Sony Gold disc and put a folded towel under the recorder.Juda
faulkner1953
In my opinion, it was the folded towel that solved your problem. I had a problem once with "glitches" in the recording. We were loud, we're always loud. I had my Sharp MT770 resting on top of a Samsung DLP TV, nothing under it. The vibrations must have messed up the writing process from time to time. Now, I always lay the recorder on the soft carrying case that came with it, haven't had the problem since...even when placing the unit on top of a bass cabinet ( no , I don't normally do that. It's usually on top of the PA mixer)

Not extremely sensitive, but somewhat. You don't want that head jumping around while it's writing data.
