Another Mac-HiMD question...

Hi folks! :ok:

I know that is a "million dollars" question, because there's nothing sure about it yet, but I'd like to ask you if you think the Mac-compatible SonicStage coming out this summer will eventually be compatible with 1st generation HiMD...

Do you think it will work with my nh600??? (I'm hoping so because I love my MD and my Macintosh, and I'm sad about their incompatibility... I hate that market strategy  !)

Thanks to all!!! B)

as you said already no one knows as it isn't out yet, but that doesn't make it a 'million dollar' question but rather a pretty 'impossible to answer' question

to make a guess anyway: no, no version of the mac (uploading) software has been designed to work with models that were not intended for mac-compatibility, only the RH1 was intended for two-way mac-compatibility so I wouldn't even bet any money on the two-way function of the other mac-compatible models (MZ1O & MZ100) as they were desiged for one way only (MD->mac)

the other models, I would really be surprised if they would work with mac

I think the compatibility with other Mac-compatible (MZ-10 & MZ-100) will need to be tested (there is still a chance for those units), but I'm pretty sure there will be almost no chance that the software works for any other units like the NH600.

The Mac software supplied with the RH1 that I received (only uploads) stated that it will upload Hi-SP, Hi-LP, & PCM recorded on any Mac-compatible model. In theory this would mean that you could use the M10 and M100 to upload those other Hi-MD formats as well. The previous software only allowed uploads of PCM.

As far as transfers from Mac>Hi-MD we will have to wait and see. I would assume with a high degree of certainty that if such software appears it will only work with the Mac-compatible models, and yes as Volta stated... Maybe only the RH1 will support uploads as well as downloads.
