ronil [mz nh1]
hi, not sure if this is the right place for q's about the mp3gain program, but does anyone know the best way to make the volume of tracks in album all the same and louder without getting poppin/crackling? I find this program a bit confusing as i dont really understand the options, i have tried playing around a bit, but would like the opinion of other users.is it best to:1.Import and analyse the album. 2.Change the target (normal) volume to the highest volume as shown in the analysis.3.Click the "album gain" button?Or is there a suggested target volume other users use to increase the volume? I plan to go with 99.5 db, is this too loud or can i go louder? considering most tracks ive analysed are between 97 to 99.thanks in advance
pata2001
You only need to do album gain if the whole album tracks are related to each other (eg. live concert, nonstop mix, classical, etc). Other than that, just do track analysis and track gain.As setting the target, look at the clipping indicator (red "Y"). you want to target the highest number where the clipping is gone. I find the default 89 put the volume too low for my taste, but pretty much guarantee zero clipping. I find 90 or 91 is good enough in eliminating clipping most of the time. greenmachine
The included help file should cover most (if not all) of your questions, common mistakes, etc. Have you read it?
