A440
SonicStage is a PC program. There's no Mac equivalent if you want to use it to download music from a Mac computer to MD. The MZ-M** and MZ-RH1 models have a program called .wav importer that allows PCM recordings to be uploaded from those machines to a Mac. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11840&hl=
raintheory
The Mac software supplied with the RH1 allows uploads of any Hi-MD formats (Hi-LP, Hi-SP, PCM) to a Mac using any Mac-compatible unit.I'll post this next part as a separate thread eventually, but if anyone with a MZ-M** model wants the Mac software to upload in Hi-SP/Hi-LP and not just PCM, PM me and I can email it to you. mikio
THANKS ALL FOR YOUR QUICK RESPONSES!!!let me clarify myself. i guess in my heart of hearts i knew there was no SS for mac users. what i should have asked is, is there an app similar to SS for MacOSX? here's what i need it for. but first i must stress that i don't upload nor download music in the general sense of the word. i use my Sony MZ-RH910 strictly to record guitar lines to my HD. from there i convert those tracks into .wav files, then into .mid files, then into .enc files. the latter is a notation extension. the former is a MIDI extension. from there i am able to open these files and print them out as music. my objective (if it's not obvious) is to expedite writing music in the least complicated fashion. for me using a computer is not complicated so all the conversions i have to do is not an issue. what seems to be the issue now is cross platforming my setup. i have my pc working like a charm and now i need to elumate that on my laptop. i haven't begun to figure that out and i need to quickly. i will be on the road soon and i would prefer not to chart music by long hand. does this make more sense? please share or link me to whatever app you feel would aid me best. and of course always your advice is welcomed.kind regards, Mikio Edited July 16, 2006 by mikio
The Low Volta
with an RH910, there is no way to upload music through USB to a mac, period. you can use a line out -> line in 3,5mm-3,5mm cable setup and record it in e.g. garageband or audacity, but no SS-like transferswith the mac-compatible machines (MZ-M10/M100/RH1) you can use HiMD-transfer for mac which will allow you to upload your own HiSP/HiLP or PCM recordings to mac and transfer them to wav, after which you can do whatever you want with them... but this pogram will not work for the non-mac-compatible models, like the RH910and one other remark... "test it before buying"? if someone ever charged you for SS3.4 (or any other version of SS), please go back and hit that person in the face as he has taken advantage of you all Sony software for HiMD has been free, unless you need it on a CD, in which case Sony will charge you for the CD and the postage costssorry to bring bad news, but with the RH910 you will not have mac-compatibility ever I'm afraid Edited July 16, 2006 by The Low Volta
raintheory
You guys may want to check this out:http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=16379Apparently the new Mac Music Transfer software (links in post) allows downloads of MP3 to any MP3 compatible recorder (including the RH10, RH910)... No uploads with RH10 and RH910 though, just MP3 to Hi-MD...
