Hi My dad has come accross some reel to reel recordings of family from 1962. he has copied them onto MD for me and the rest of the family wants copies but do not have MD players. How can i record from MD to PC? everytime i try to check in i get "Detected errors while transfering check in failed" my MD is a Sony MZ-N710 - Sony say it is not possible...but i don't believe them!

Your a star! thank you, i'll give it a go.

NetMD cannot upload, but you can copy in realtime via analogue out/input:

Okay, have tried, but my MD player doesn't show up as a plug in. When i press play on Sonic Stage or Open jukebox, i can't record as none of my recording software can pick up my MD player....any ideas?

The only playback from a NetMD is out of the headphone jack. You have to connect the headphone out to Line-in (preferably) or Mic-in (if that's all you have) on your computer and make a realtime recording.

Your recording software will not pick up the MD through the USB connection. On NetMD that is one way only, from PC-->MD.

You should be able to use SonicStage to control the playback, but it will not come through the computer--only through the headphone jack.

Please read that post more carefully.
