Hi. I recently purchased the MZ-M100. After some frustration trying to transfer Hi-Sp files to my Mac, I downloaded the Mac Ver.2.0. Now I can happily edit track names back to the M100, but I still cannot import, nor copy and paste to my Mac. I'm getting the message: "Import failed because a target file cannot be created. What Now?? Anyone else have this problem and know a fix?

@ donato,

can you upload PCM and/or HiLP tracks? were the HiSP tracks recorded with a mac-compatible machine (an M10, M100 or the RH1) or with another HiMD? Are the tracks fresh recordings or are they downloads through SonicStage or SimpleBurner?...

please give as much info as possible so it is possible for us to help...

Hi Low Volta, Thanks for your reply. Very fresh recordings. I've recorded myself with a condenser mic playing the guitar on my MZ-M100 in Hi-Sp mode. (When I later discovered that I couldn't download to my Mac using the supplied software, I made subsequent recordings on separate disks in PCM mode- and had no trouble downloading these PCM files using the original supplied software. Now, after some sleuthing I found and downloaded the Ver2.0 software so that I can download my old disk containing the Hi-Sp tracks, and have run into the aforementioned wall.

just to exclude some options... you could record a short track of yourself or something in HiSP and try to upload that (if that new recoding works, it has something to do specifically with the old recordings)

perhaps some other ppl will chip in soon as well

At first I used up a Hi-Md disc recording in Hi-Sp mode. When I discovered I couldn't download from M100 to Mac using the supplied software, I made all subsequent recordings on separate discs in PCM mode. (I've had no problem with downloading PCM files using the supplied software).

I've tried creating a folder on the desktop to drag files into to no avail; nothing else I've tried has worked, either.

Has anyone else encountered this probem before? Any clues/ ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ok, but please try the test I described above:

- make a new recording of something in HiSP (not the old one, I know these were fresh recordings of yourself, but we need a new recording just to exclude some possibilities)

- try to upload this

- if this works, then something happened with the old disc (perhaps by trying to upload it with version 1 or something) but at least you know you'll be able to upload HiSP in the future

- if it doesn't work, try making and uploading a new recording in HiLP

- if this doesn't work, try downloading an MP3 from mac -> HiMD

- if this doesn't work either, it looks like version 2.0 didn't really instal correctly or something as the program still behaves like version 1.0

- if the HiLP uploads and/or MP3 downloads do work but just HiSP is useless... then I'm really stumped, sorry

Hey Low Volta, I finally figured out what was preventing me from downloading my Hi-Sp files to the Mac with Ver. 2.0. I had first renamed the files, then tried to save- and that's apparently when it notifies that it can't find a target folder (why I Don't know)... I went back and changed all the titles back to "Untitled" (as they first appear in the download window), and Voila- no problemo!

Thanks for your input, Donato
