unusablesignal
has anyone out there ran the Sonic Stage programs on a new Intel MAC using the Boot Camp Beta(Windows XP enabling) program? Im still grasping at straws here trying to see if the MZ-RH1 isgonna be worth it to me without a PC. thanks.
Justin42
I can't imagine why it wouldn't work with Boot Camp, since all BC does is repartition the drive to allow you to install Windows; when you boot up XP on an Intel Mac, it IS a standard PC laptop with all standard parts (including USB). It would work just like it would on any other PC laptop with Windows.(I'd try it on the MacBook Pro sitting 5 feet to my left right now, with Bootcamp installed, but with my luck SonicStage would toast the Windows install.. And it's a work machine.) Edited August 15, 2006 by Justin42
unusablesignal
yo, Justin42. HA! I love your balanced point of view of 'im sure it would work' and 'i wouldnt trust trying it'. Its the typical position that these tech companies put us in. Im probably gonna end up buying a Macbook just so i can buy the new minidisc machine. Not really the most cost effective way to go about things but....i guess im just a sucker for MD.
The Low Volta
the MZ-RH1 offers (almost) full compatibility with mac OSX, no windows needed!- loads MP3's from mac to HiMD (not atrac)- uploads your own recordings made with the RH1 (not legacy recordings)

Sorry for sounding kinda snarky; I just don't have the time at work to recover from a toasted XP install just in case anything does go wrong. That said, I have had 0 problems with the Macbook Pro while in Windows, it behaves exactly as a Windows machine does in everything I've tried. (USB keys, etc, especially; and it seems to use the standard Intel chipset which is really good news as that's more than likely what Sony tests the most against)
